Martina started her training contract in September 2018 and is currently spending her third seat in our Private Wealth team.
Martina studied Law at the University of Ulster where she graduated in 2013 having obtained a 2:1 degree with a Diploma in International Academic Studies. She subsequently completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in 2018 where she graduated with a commendation. She is due to qualify as a solicitor in 2020.
Martina has three years’ experience working as a manager at a global law firm. The role involved managing multiple large scale projects, including scoping requirements, process mapping and the implementation of legal technology to streamline processes. Prior to this she worked as a litigation paralegal at a silver circle law firm.
Her first seat at Shulmans was spent in the Commercial Property department, gaining experience in dealing with investment in and disposal of commercial property, as well as re-financing projects.
Her second seat was spent in the Commercial Dispute Resolution department where she gained significant experience in preventing and managing both commercial and individual disputes. This included dealing with breach of contract and misrepresentation claims, partnership disputes, debt claims and transport related regulatory disputes.
She is currently spending her third seat in our Private Wealth team where she will assist clients with issues that impact on their personal and business lives; with particular focus around succession planning, structuring the ownership of wealth and minimising the tax burden.
