David is a junior member of the Commercial Property team at Shulmans, assisting the partners with large matters while running his own caseload as well.
Having trained at Shulmans and spent 12 months in the Commercial Property team as part of his training contract, David is a well-established member of the team and has helped to deliver good commercial results for a range of clients. David also regularly helps colleagues in other teams at Shulmans where property advice is required, including the Corporate and Commercial teams.
David has acted on a variety of matters, from landlord and tenant matters (comprising granting of leases, surrenders and variations), property management for portfolio owners and development work for retail clients and developers alike. David is also part of Shulmans’ telecoms team and has acted for landowners in both granting telecoms agreements and seeking to bring these to an end.
Most recently, David has acted on matters involving Compulsory Purchase Orders, helping landowners to secure good outcomes with local authorities and developers with a view to avoiding the exercise of CPO powers while achieving the desired results.
David is often complimented for having an eye for technical detail, delivering this in a way which is easy for clients to understand and helps deliver the best outcome for them.
Although primarily a commercial property lawyer, David is also accredited under the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) and often acts for established clients on their residential matters as well as commercial.
Outside of Shulmans, David is a member of the Catenians in Bradford and is also a member of Shulmans’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) group. David has acted as a mentor for projects including Streetlaw and contributed to the firm’s involvement in the Shine Project.
