Excellence and Risk Solicitor

We are now seeking to recruit an Excellence and Risk Solicitor to work in our growing Operational Excellence team.

Shulmans LLP is a UK top 200 corporate law firm, with an enviable client list.  Situated in the heart of the Leeds Business District, we offer companies a range of services regionally, nationally and internationally. Being a ‘great place to work’ is embedded in our culture, and realised in our location.  At work, you will find cafes and restaurants on your doorstep and gyms, a workplace choir and many other wellbeing benefits.

This is a unique opportunity to join our growing ‘Operational Excellence’ team. In this post you will support the Head of Operational Excellence in advising the firm on regulation and compliance matters and assist in developing and implementing the firm’s strategy for continuous improvement and delivering excellence.

In this post you will focus on two key areas: ‘Risk and Compliance’ and ‘Operational Efficiencies’. Within your broad range of duties you will work closely with external compliance consultants to ensure an effective risk management framework is implemented across the business, act as the point of contact for queries relating to potential issues of risk, manage file and system audits, assist in providing our lawyer colleagues with a range of efficiency ‘tools’ and ensure a continued awareness of best practice and emerging issues and opportunities that could aid in the continuous improvement of the business.

To be considered for this role you will be a qualified solicitor with approximately 3-5 years PQE and familiarity of the challenges facing lawyers in adhering to risk and compliance requirements within a busy work environment. You will also be an excellent communicator, able to explain complex messages in the most appropriate way, able to think around issues and able to translate concepts and technical data into practical recommendations. Through these skills you will be able to develop strong relationships throughout all departments of our business and use your influencing skills to get ‘buy in’ from stakeholders where necessary.

If you have the above experience and are keen to work in a unique area of our business, then please get in touch.  We can offer you a successful and thriving practice, with high quality work and a great team of people around you, to help you achieve your career ambitions.
